Yes, this Rainbow Trout was caught in Loon Lake. It's not the norm but was caught 2 coves down from Camp Loony!

Fishing on Loon Lake and Nearby

There is fantastic fishing on Loon Lake and nearby streams. You will catch small-mouth bass, northern pike, a few elusive large-mouth bass, a very rare rainbow trout (on the lake, there are plenty in the streams) and perch.

Lots of shoreline and coves to explore by canoe and kayak.

Canoeing and Kayaking

Loon Lake is a private lake that is great for canoeing and kayaking. The swimming is amazing too! We have 475 feet of lake front. There is a large dock with Adirondack chairs, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the amazing views.

The Wild Center

So many local attractions!

There are so many awesome activities within a short drive. Saranac Lake has many great shops and restaurants and so does Lake Placid, the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The Wild Center in Tupper Lake is an amazing Natural History center.

The House and Grounds

You cannot go wrong at Camp Loony, Inside or Outside! The Lake is where we love to hang out, on the dock, in the water, by the fire pit or down the wooded path. The inside is almost as amazing with great views from every window, a gourmet kitchen, a game room, comfortable bedrooms and more.

Witness Wildlife Galore

The Loons are our favorite wildlife to see and hear but there is so much more to be seen in the region of the Adirondacks; deer, moose, black bear, eagles, ospreys, hawks, kestrels, owls, mergansers, and many more species.
